French Press

An immersion recipe with a full body, gentle texture and very little equipment overhead.

Immersion brewing is forgiving, but the final cup improves when you give the grounds time to settle before pouring. A coarse grind keeps the press clean and easy to drink.

The brew

Follow the pour, then taste

  1. 01Heat water to 93°C (200°F).
  2. 02Add 30g coarse ground coffee to press.
  3. 03Pour 500g water, stir gently.
  4. 04Steep for 4 minutes.
  5. 05Press plunger slowly, serve immediately.
